WebhookQA

A self-contained testing tool. Describe a webhook in plain English, get a test suite back, run it live and export a report. One file, zero dependencies.

The problem

Testing webhooks is tedious by default.

Every automation project has webhook endpoints, and every endpoint needs testing. Writing payloads by hand, firing them manually and reading raw responses is slow and inconsistent.

I wanted a portable tool that turns a plain-English description into a meaningful test suite. So I built one.

The approach

Describe it. Get a test suite.

WebhookQA is a single HTML file with no build step and no server. You describe the system, the tool sends that description to the Claude API, and it returns targeted tests: happy paths, edge cases, malformed payloads and boundary conditions.

The tests run against any live endpoint straight from the browser. Each result includes a plain-language analysis of whether the response matches the spec, not just pass or fail.

The constraint that made it useful: single file, zero dependencies, deployable anywhere. I can drop it into any project or run it locally without a setup conversation.

Run history persists between sessions, and results export to branded PDF or HTML reports for documentation or handoffs.

The outcome

A reusable tool, not a one-off script.

1File, no dependencies
AnyWebhook endpoint testable
2Export formats: PDF and HTML

It's now part of my normal workflow when building n8n workflows and webhook integrations, used to check behavior before anything ships.

What it shows: spotting a pain point that recurs across projects and turning it into a tool that handles the whole category.
